My name is Michael Seliske and I will be serving as the Engineering Student Societies Council of Ontario President for the 2012-2013 year.
I am very proud and honoured to serve on the 25th executive council of ESSCO and am looking forward to continue the legacy of excellence that has come before me. I am very excited to represent the collective voice of over 20,000 undergraduate engineering students to the various contacts within the government, academia and industry. I see ESSCO as an opportunity to allow engineering societies to do things that they would not be able to complete independently and it is with this in mind that I attempt to identify and facilitate this collaboration between Ontario schools. I will be working hard to gather and develop the opinions and ideas of engineering students in Ontario and communicate them to external associations such as Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) and the Council of Ontario Deans of Engineering (CODE). It is within this capacity that I will seek to continue the work done by my predecessors to make ESSCO an organization with a clear purpose and action plan.
ESSCO cannot run without volunteers and we are constantly looking for students from our member schools to help run our various initiatives and would encourage anyone to contact us if anything is of interest. This includes anyone that would just like to get involved in something more or someone with a great idea that could utilize the resources of ESSCO to accomplish an amazing goal.
I look forward to working with an amazing executive team and an amazing council this upcoming year and am very excited about the potential we have as a group of student leaders.
Feel free to take a look around and ask me any questions you may have regarding what we do or ways you can get involved.
Michael Seliske
ESSCO President 2012/2013
