The streets were full of excitement on June 29 during WorldPride 2014 hosted in Toronto. McMaster student, Adam Moniz, was among a larger group of enthusiastic engineering students who all came out to the event to show their support.
“The McMaster EngiQueers took a group of students down to Toronto for WorldPride 2014. Since we officially formed our group near the end of the school year, we thought this would be a great way to start things off. We were thrilled to have such a positive turnout of not only Mac Eng students, but the great representation from engineering at Ryerson, Windsor, Waterloo, U of T and Carleton. We got to experience Pride to the fullest – exploring Church St. and proudly marching in the parade. For many of us, this was our first experience at any sort of Pride event and it was an absolute blast. We hope we can keep showing the world that engineering is a proud and inclusive community!”
The McMaster Engiqueers is a newly formed social connection and advocacy group for the LGBTQ and ally community within Mac Eng. Thank you Adam for sharing these photos from the event!
